Tour Details

After being picked up direct at the door of your accommodation by your own personal driver and guide, you will be taken by private vehicle to the iconic 5000 year old Stonehenge. This is your tour, you will have plenty of time to enjoy this World Heritage Site at your leisure, no rushing or herding around like on a large group tours.

Stonehenge was constructed in stages over a period of 2000 years. Experts believe that building began around 3000 BC, and during the early Bronze Age burial mounds were added near to the circle. The stones were brought from very long distances – the bluestones from the Preseli Hills, over 150 miles away, and the sarsens probably from the Marlborough Downs, 19 miles to the north. The new visitor centre will explain the latest theories on the building techniques used, and the types of ceremonies and rituals that took place on the site. The visitor centre has a great restaurant and cafe, plus a great shop stocked with all manner of books and gifts.

Once you have explored Stonehenge, it will be time to drive through the beautiful countryside of Wiltshire on our route to Bath. We will take the scenic route through charming villages and within the hour we will arrive in Bath. On arrival your guide will give you an introduction to Bath and its long history stretching back to the Romans who started to use the natural hot springs. The 2000 year old Roman plumbing is still working!  See one of the best preserved and most famous Roman Baths in the world. You are also able to sample the famous Bath natural mineral water that used to be prescribed by Doctors for its curative properties.

Bath is packed with great places to eat, from the sumptuous Pump Room restaurant if you fancy a fine dining experience, or perhaps you might prefer Sally Lunn's, the oldest house in Bath that serves traditional lunches and afternoon Tea.  Your guide will be on hand to give you a tour of Bath and to share stories about the fascinating history and characters who have visited or made Bath their home. For those that prefer to wander by themselves you will have ample time to do so. Bath is the perfect place to pick up some great souvenirs, or maybe you will want to spend a little time at the Jane Austen museum? The day is yours to enjoy as you wish.

Once you have experienced Bath, you will be taken back direct to your Hotel in London, or to another central London location of your choice. A truly personal, non rushed and bespoke trip to two of the UK's most famous destinations.
